Our Father....
Hail Mary....
Glory Be to the Father....

Regaining a little strength, I walked with the crowds to the entrance of the square. A door flew open and my son stumbled out, the guards laughing behind him. Two men dragged over a thick wooden cross and loaded it on his shoulders. Then they shoved him down the road. My pain for him was unbearable. I wanted to take the cross from him and carry it myself.

My Son came on earth for this hour. He has accepted his mission and fulfilled it point by point in order to arrive at the end which is the Passion. You must also attach yourself passionately to the will of the Father. You must embrace the Father’s perfect will as did my Son and His, not only in those circumstances which please you, but also to the degree that suffering causes revulsion to your body and anguish in your heart. I have so accepted the Father’s will with my Son. It is our deepest happiness.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, you received the Cross from the hands of men to make of it the sign of God’s saving love for humanity. Grant us and all people of our time the grace to believe in this infinite love. To you, O Jesus, Priest and Victim, be praise and glory for ever.
