Welcome
to St. Margaret Parish!
Since
my arrival at St. Margaret Parish, I have been
most impressed with the dedication and enthusiasm of our parishioners,
from the very young, our teenagers, families and senior citizens
as well as the local business community and their interest and
support in improving the quality of life in our neighborhoods.
Despite
the many changes that Lowell has experienced and continues to experience,
St. Margaret has continued to serve this community with outreach
and dedication to the many diverse racial and ethnic groups that
currently reside here.
St.
Margaret has always placed the needs of the people of our community
first. This is as it should be.
Catholic
education is essential to the life of St. Margaret Parish, as witnessed
by the uninterrupted support of St. Margaret’s School.
Catholic education is essential to the life of the Church, and
Catholic education is essential to the life of our world.
Nearly
100 years ago, the dream of an alive, vibrant faith-filled parish
in this section of Lowell, and a vision of Catholic Education emerged.
Our
continued mission is to recognize the important role that Catholic
education within our school and religious education programs
plays in the life of the child. In this work there are three essential
factors: the child created by God to know, love and serve Him;
the teacher who recognizes God’s claim upon the child’s
mind, soul and body, and then the technology that assists in the
instruction. However, it is not the technology or the words that
teach and train the soul of the child. It is the voice of the teacher,
the light of faith in their eyes, their manner of life, and their
trust in the great God, which make up true educators of mind and
will and heart.
I
feel privileged to be the Administrator of St. Margaret’s
as we enter the twenty-first century. This new century will be
one of unparalleled growth and development in our society, world
and Church. Well-educated young men and women of faith will be
essential for leadership and direction, both in our world society
and in our emerging Church. This education is the mission of St.
Margaret Parish through our School and Religious Education
program.
In
the names of my predecessors and my own name, the pastors of St.
Margaret Parish thank God for the many dedicated religious, lay
teachers and staff, who have given over nearly 100 years of graces
and blessings to our parish, our community, our country and the
world.
- Please
pray for me as I carry on fine work Father Nick and his predecessors
have accomplished for the Roman Catholic community here in Lowell.
